What’s it all about?

You will be part of the sailing crew. Everyone will take part to all normal sailing duties, like steering, being on watch, navigating, cooking, doing dishes, trimming sails and so on. In most cases everyone will get own cabin, but you might have a room mate.

On specific theme trip, like Sail & Ski, we are combining two wonderful activities in world class environment to one, so it’s combining sailing experience with finding best snow and lines to ski.

On passages we sail, live a life in a boat, and experience the ports and local life along the journey.

What are the requirements, will I manage?

You don’t need to have any spesific sailing skills. All required tasks and skills will be taught and learned during the passage. If you already are a competent sailor, it will of course be taken into account in the voyage plan.

Will I get seasick?

Seasickness is very personal thing, and while most people will experience some nausea at first when entering open sea, it’s no issue on our Sail & Ski and Fjords & Mountains trips as we sail in inner passages and fjords in flat waters.

What to bring?

You will get detailed gear list according to type of the trip you are joining.

For passages you should bring obviously basic sailing gear, waterproof clothes etc, but for arctic sailing you also need real winter gear like warm winter jacket and trousers, few sets of gloves, woolen base and mid layers, goggles and warm hat.

Sleeping bag, toiletteries.

Pack everything in duffel bag around 80l, we can’t store hard suitcases in a boat.

Passages, from/to where, how long?

We try to keep participating on a passage leg as flexible as possible, mostly you may join in and leave according to your own schedules as long as the transport is available. Winter sailing requires a lot of flexibility with the plan, and we are prepared to spend weather days doing activities and getting to know port towns along the route.
